I have a number of mixed Dell E-port and E-port plus docks on my network.
I was the FIRST user to report this issue and the technician agreed that this is an issue that needs to be addressed.Īlso, while I had the Tech on the phone I took my other laptop, a Dell Lattitute E5550 running Windows 10 Pro as well, and placed it on the docking station, (after confirming with the Tech that this docking station is also compatible with this laptop.) I recieved an error message stating that the laptop wasn't recognized either, thus further confirming it was in deed a Windows 10 compatibility issue.Īlso, while I had the Tech on the phone I took my other laptop, a Dell Lattitute E5550 running Windows 10 Pro as well, and placed it on the docking station, (after confirming with the Tech that this docking station is also compatible with this laptop.) The technician stated that my issue may probably be sent to the Engineer Division at Dell. These work as intended, however the laptop gets no power from the docking station and is working off it's battery. the Ethernet port, the USB 3.0 ports, the VGA port. All other functions of this docking station work fine, i.e. The sad thing is if you go to Dell's website and look for docking stations, not one shown indicates what OS is required for it to function.
Per Dell, some are not, (mine for instance,) but I was emailed a list that were. Docking station may not be compatible with the new windows 10 update.
